IGKV Raipur soybean unit wins Best Centre Award
Raipur: The All India Coordinated Research Project (Soybean) at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, has been awarded the "Best Centre Award" for its performance during the 2023-2025 evaluation period. The award was presented at the 56th annual group meeting of the project held at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University in HyderabadonApril 9.The Raipurcentrereceived thehonourfor its work in research trials, scientific publications, breeding innovations, technology development, farmer outreach, and seed production. The IGKV team,comprisingprincipal scientist Dr Sunil Kumar Nag, senior scientist Dr Rama Mohan Savu, and associate professor Dr Aishwarya Tandon, received the award.The Raipurcentresuccessfully completedall allottedtrials in plant breeding, agronomy, plant pathology, and microbiology for three consecutive years. Its contributions include the development of three improved soybean varieties for the eastern region.Thecentrealso conducted 100 frontline demonstrations annually,benefitingfarmers in Kanker district under the Tribal Sub-Plan.
